Hi Travis,

My name is Bowen Jiang, and I am a second-year PhD student in cryptography. I am very interested in the GSoC 2026 project "Coordinate the graded commutative algebra and exterior algebra implementations and Gröbner bases."

I have some experience with Gröbner bases and have implemented a solver in Rust:
https://github.com/Jiangjiang-jiang/groebner-basis-solver

I have already set up a local development version of SageMath and would like to get familiar with the codebase by working on issues. Could you suggest any good issues or entry points that would be suitable for getting started with this project?

I plan to start contributing soon and would be happy to submit a PR and share a draft proposal before the deadline.

Best,
Bowen

Dear Bowen,
You can see all of our issues on our github tracker, where you can find any relevant open issues/PR regarding this project idea. That said, for preparing for such a project proposal, I would recommend looking at the corresponding source code that is currently available within SageMath and developing your own plan based on that and what you think would be a good solution.

Best,
Travis
