I bought my first Android tablet (Samsung GT-P5113) yesterday, and
can't get Sage for Android to work. Anybody worked with this? It has
great potential, and I was hoping next week in Seattle to swap ideas
on how to use it.

I open the "Example" worksheet, 1+1, I click "Run," which I assume is
equivalent to "Evaluate," it blinks, but I get no result.

I'm having a similar problem with terminal emulators and SSHDroid I've
downloaded, that the terminal window comes up and the keyboard
appears, but the keyboard entry doesn't go into the terminal. Perhaps
these two problems are related and there's something fundamental I
don't understand about using a tablet.

Thanks,

Brad

Does aleph.sagemath.org work well?

Thanks,

Jason

Jason,

Yes, aleph.sagemath.org works fine.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Algebraic expressions work fine but I can't plot. I'm using a DroidX cellphone and Kindle Fire. These work fine on alpha.sagenb.org however.

FWIW I have the same result on my new Galaxy Nexus running stock Android
4.0. Probably the app is just using an outdated Aleph URL or
something...

Jason -- have you guys ever considered having a protocol number so
that you can change the protocol without breaking the apps? This is
what [1] does. They have maybe over a hundred protocol version
numbers, and can hence support 100s of different client versions
simultaneously.

like to contribute a bit to the SAGE project while I'm learning to use this fantastic software. I'm interested in optimizing the notebook interface for mobile devices, and I think a bit of CSS rules can already enhance it.
Best regards.
