Not able to build sage

Hi,

I am not able to build sage locally. I am getting 2 errors:

1. package:         maxima-5.47.0

  last build time: Feb 15 16:40

  log file:        /Users/anujjain/sage/sage/logs/pkgs/maxima-5.47.0.log

  build directory: /Users/anujjain/sage/sage/local/var/tmp/sage/build/maxima-5.47.02. 

2. package:         ppl-1.2.p1

  last build time: Feb 15 16:29

  log file:        /Users/anujjain/sage/sage/logs/pkgs/ppl-1.2.p1.log

  build directory: /Users/anujjain/sage/sage/local/var/tmp/sage/build/ppl-1.2.p1

My computer configuration is:

 Model Name: MacBook Pro

  Model Identifier: Mac16,5

  Model Number: MX2W3LL/A

  Chip: Apple M4 Max

  Total Number of Cores: 16 (12 performance and 4 efficiency)

  Memory: 48 GB

  System Firmware Version: 11881.81.4

  OS Loader Version: 11881.81.4

I got the master branch of the source code from: g...@github.com:sagemath/sage.git

The log files for both the packages showing errors are attached.

Please help.

Hi Dima,

Thanks for your reply.

I want to share an update:

The problem must have been due to mixing of things from /usr/local/brew and /opt/homebrew.

1. I uninstalled homebrew from /usr/local. 

2. Reinstalled all the dependent brew packages

3. Followed all the other steps again.

It started working again.

I do have the latest hardware - M4. However, things still work on it.
