geoscience applications in sage

Hi,

I'm working on a presentation that will include some current/planned
capabilities of web-based python environments via sage and ipython
notebooks. The idea is to try to get some people thinking about what
can be done from open web-based frameworks as opposed to monolithic
and closed C++ GUI's for engineering analysis. I think I can work in
some of the examples on interact.sagemath.org and some that I use for
teaching on our sage server. I thought I would go ahead and ask the
developer community if there are applications involving geospatial
data analysis and/or simulation that I could consider presenting. My
laboratory is focused on coastal and hydraulic applications.
