If I do search_doc("orbit") in sage 3.4 (in the notebook), I get
(amongst others) a link:

https://localhost:8000/doc/live/html/en/reference/genindex-F.html

which leads to a "resource cannot be found". The appropriate link
seems to be

https://localhost:8000/doc/live/reference/genindex-F.html

It could be that my sage is just screwed up, but if someone else can
confirm this error, a ticket should be opened. I bet it's easy to fix.

Confirmed. This is now #5540: http://trac.sagemath.org/sage_trac/ticket/5540

I found another problem related to the documentation search: In the Sage
Reference Manual 3.4, sometimes there is a Quick search field at the top
left, sometimes there isn't. But even if there is, typing a search item
and clicking on the "Go" button only takes me to a page entitled
"Search" where I am supposed to type my search words into a non-existing
box and click a non-existing "search" button. Did something go wrong
with my installation, or is this a bug?

Thanks for your help!

Cheers,
Stan
