Hi all,
I just compiled SAGE 4.4.2 on my MacbookPro running Ubuntu 10.04 (64
bit).
An installation of the graph package iGraph failed with the following
error:
ImportError: /usr/lib/libxml2.so.2: undefined symbol: gzopen64
The reason is the libz library shipped with SAGE:
objdump -T $SAGE_ROOT/local/lib/libz.so.1.2.3 | grep gzopen64
returned nothing.
When I replaced the library with the one shipped with Ubuntu (/lib/
libz.1.2.3.3) and updated SAGE's softlinks accordingly, everything
worked fine.
Perhaps someone with a SAGE trac account could create a ticket for
this, if this is of general interest.
Cheers,
Johannes

There is a new version of zlib awaiting review

http://trac.sagemath.org/sage_trac/ticket/9008

Please try the following .spkg, which has the latest source code. I
cleaned up the package somewhat too. It had some rather dubious use of
options.

I've checked it on

* sage.math (Linux)
* bsd.math (OS X)
* t2 (Solaris 10 on SPARC)
* My Sun Ultra 27 (OpenSolaris 06/2009)

I'd like to know it if works for you too.

The package itself is at

Yes, the spkg works for me too.
Thank you,
