DEFINITION
An
Existential Crisis is a stage of development at which an individual questions the very foundations their life: whether their life has any meaning, purpose or value.
[1] This issue of the meaning and purpose of existence is the topic of the philosophical school of existentialism.
An existential crisis may result from:
- The sense of being alone and isolated in the world;
- A new-found grasp or appreciation of one's mortality;
- Believing that one's life has no purpose or external meaning;
- Awareness of one's freedom and the consequences of accepting or rejecting that freedom;
- An extremely pleasurable or hurtful experience that leaves one seeking meaning

OPINION:
I belive that the meaning of an exstitential crisis is that there comes a time in life where a person goes deeper into the meaning of life
and contiplating weather there is any meaning to it. They try to also see the values in their life from situations and outcomes. The
meaning of life reflects on it's perpose because if there is something to get out from life then there is a reason for a meaning of why
life is there.
I belive that in other words when someone is having an exstitential (crisis) it is an example of that is an midlife crisis. This is where a person sees that there needs to be a dramatic change in their life and try to make that change happen. For example, if an older man comes to a point in life where he wonders what the meaning of life because he wants to be younger (wants a change) he will be acting as if he where younger and his morals may be broken. The man might deny his consequences and still move forth into making his change happen. He hopefully, will find that there is nothing you can do to repeat the past, stay young or become younger.
