Goppa Codes

Hi,

As I am already trying to implement Goppa Codes in Sage I might as well
build my class correctly; which calls do I need to implement?

We already have Goppa codes in Sage (more precisely they will be in the coming Sage 8.9.beta0)

Is there an option to only test/checkout this code as I wanted to provide the
class as a byproduct of writing a thesis

You can install the latest Sage beta (8.9.beta1) where this code is
already included.
E.g. by building from the tarball
http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/www.sagemath.org/devel/sage-8.9.beta1.tar.gz
or from the git repo https://github.com/sagemath/sage
(do not forget `git checkout develop` before building, to be on the
right branch)
