Dear all,

First, I should say that I really like the new sagecloud!! I have started using it quite a bit and I find it very nicely done and very useful.

One small suggestion I had is with respect to the latex editor. I was wondering whether there could be a "autocomplete" function, as in TexWorks and TexShop for instance. By which I mean that, for instance, instead of typing \begin{equation} \end{equation}, one can simply type beq<tab> and it auto-completes the environment. I find this extremely useful, so that we don't have to write up our own macros at the beginning of the document (in which case people have different macros which makes it harder for collaboration). I presume this is probably not so difficult to include in the editor, and I think it would be a very useful functionality.

Thanks a lot for the amazing work! :-)

Vincent

I too would like to see this feature. When I edit a LaTeX document, I spend a lot of time typing \begin{} and \end{}. vim-latex implements this feature by having you type the name of the environment on its own line, and then pressing F5. vim-latex's implementation is smart enough to include extra {} and [] if further parameters are needed.

Hi, auto-completion is certainly a good thing, not sure how hard it is
to implement it.

I'm curious, have you tried to run vim-latex on the command-line in
SMC? I would be interested if it would work as you expected -- mainly
to answer the question, if "F5" works, or if you need to map this
function key to another key combination.

If it works well, me and probably some others might be happy to know
how to set this up in SMC ;-)

vim-latex DOES work on SMC, including the F5 auto-complete feature.  I have not tested it much, so I can not say if everything works.  I tested on Chromium and on Firefox, both worked.

Hi,

I just improved SageMathCloud's latex editor autocompletion (via
control+space). This mainly completes on commands, but I used a
pretty large list from https://github.com/LaTeXing/LaTeX-cwl
