email to class

Is there a way to send an email message to the class from SMC? I m currently doing all within SMC for my course, but if I want to announce to the class that they have a new assignment to work on, I need to go to another system to send them the message.  Thanks for any info.

No, we don't have this feature of sending out emails (we have to
figure out how to prevent spamming etc., too).
