Hi friends, and really good friends.Ill quickly bring everyone up to speed, this is a blurb outlining the event I am putting togethor, which will be held March 1st. Please use this blurb to encourage your friends to get involved!Engineers Without Borders (EWB) day 2007 is planned for March 1st. On this day EWB plans to reach hundreds of thousands of Canadians with the message that global extreme poverty has been defeated! It happened March 1st 2025, and Canada played a leading role. We will be distributing a newspaper which pretends to be from this date, and purports to describe the steps taken between now and 2025 which led to the defeat of extreme poverty. In Edmonton on March 1st we will distribute the paper at each LRT terminal, in Southgate Mall and on campus. Engineers Without Borders is recruiting volunteers to help make this great outreach event a success, attached to this email is a schedule of times and places where volunteers are needed. A volunteer training session will be held on Wednesday February 28th in the Colt Desgn Lab in the Engineering Teaching and Learning Complex (ETLC) at 5:00pm-6:00pm. Free pizza will be served to all those who attend. Please respond to this email with the time and place you would like to volunteer, along with your phone number. Do not forget to attend the training session if you are able to volunteer your time. Please circulate this email to your friends and other interested parties. Thanks you!I had mentioned to a few of you that ETS did not give us permission to run our event on their property, which was serious trouble for minute. All that has ben sorted out, but a few small things may have to change. I have been waiting for a phone call from the director of community relations and trasportation with ETS, and when she gets back to me I will know if plan A is a-go, which would mean that nothing has changed, or if we will have to go with plan B, which would mean distributing our papers just outside of the ETS LRT station buildings. This is a perfectly ok thing to do because city by-laws say nothing prohibiting it EXCEPT for that we are liable for a $110 fine is we harrass anybody. All a person needs is to feel harrassed in order to file a complaint, but you guys are wonderful, so that will be no problem. So thats the update on the event. Here is the new news:(a) As mentioned, training and free pizza for volunteers will take place Wednesday Feb 28 at 5:00pm until 6:00pm in Colt Design Lab in ETLC on Campus.(b) An updated schedule is attached. If you cannot open it, try using excel, ive heard that excel can open it.(c) Call my cell phone if you need help, or have questions 780-405-9962Huge thanks guys. HUGE!!!Chris Schafenacker

hey dude,
I can do Thurs from 9:30-12:30 at an LRT station or on campus - but I can't open the file cause my computer is wonky right now. Let me know the details on that whenever is convenient to you and if you'd prefer I do a different time then that is okay, I am free all day but I want to volunteer a max of 3 hours. thanks,

Hey Chris,
I am in for a shift after 1PM till whenever at somewhere downtown or
near the Univ.
And for the spreadsheet file you might try using google's online
spreadsheet thing because then everyone can update it automatically.
(You don't have to implement it if you think it would be more
complicated but it is a suggestion.)

Hey Chris,
I can't seem to open the file, even with excel, but I have class on
the 1st until 3:30, I'd be up for helping with whatever needs help
after that. Let me know what's going on!

This is what I am going to suggest. Give me a time that you can start and and a time that you can finish volunteering if you are unable to open my spreadsheet. Tell me if you are able to go to Southgate. I have time slots for the whole day, so I will fit you in. I will continue to update the master schedule, and I will bring it to the training session Wednesday. We will confirm everything Wednesday evening, and then strike Thursday morning with all of the force we have mustered. It will be grand.Truckloads of thank yous guys,Chris

Hey Chris,
I don't think you attached the spread sheet....also could you send it to me with a little blurb explaining the event and I will recirculate it amongst JHR.
I'd love to do it myself but I will be up north in Little Buffalo meeting with the Lubicon!! Sorry.
