Today was not my day. At all. Not even a little bit. A cold sweeps
over me as I begin coughing up dark phlegm. My fingernails being
rotting off and I can’t stop scratching myself. I scratch so hard
that I begin to bleed. My skin turns pale, losing all of its life. I
am not my handsome self in this moment. Kieran puts me on my horse
and rides as hard as he can back to the Giant Eagle camp. We are
stopped outside the Shinning White by a Hala of Branta. I am so damn
tired of these Branta. I try to calm one of the Branta down so that
we can pass through. In my quick wit I decide that sharing my lunch
with the Branta would be a better course of action, so I vomit
fiercely on the Brantas face. Amrielle casts an Entangle spell by
some of the Branta. I did not know she possessed divine magic and I
wonder at what point in our journeys together she began training it.
Anyways, between my vomit and Amrielles divine magic the Branta are
scared off. More likely it is the former. The Giant Eagles show up
at this point and apologize for not being able to secure our horses.
They lead us back to their encampment once again to save our lives.
Avards, the Lead Eagle poses the same question to us. Do we really
want to help this evil griffon tribe clan gain strength? We are
helping them because the same rotten souls that plague their lands
plagues Longsaddle as well. But still, I wish there was some other
way. Avards tells us that if we will continue to help the Griffon
tribe, he will cut all ties to us. I hope the decisions we make are
not light ones.

The weather is perfect today, yet it somehow still makes me uneasy.
The closer I keep getting to death the more my heart turns to
Allonna. I still have not finished her song, but it is getting
closer. I know that I can write a piece that will pierce straight to
her heart. I just need the inspiration.
Amrielle was taken to a secret entrance into the Shining White by a
Giant Eagle that did not wish to follow Avards orders. Thank the gods
for him, I was so tired of the soul wall. We tie up our horses a few
hours from this new entrance and begin the trek up the rock towards
it. Once inside the cave we find a crack on its surface that seems to
nullify magic. A very curious phenomenon called a Faerzress. It is a
phenomenon only found in the Underdark and it makes me very uneasy.
It is said that it is a remnant of the forces that shaped the
Underdark long ago. We try to get some shut eye in the cave but are
awoken by an Alien voice in the middle of the night. A purple light
splits the Rock on the wall by us and a dust rolls into the room. We
sit quietly hoping for this to pass. It finally passes and we try our
best to sleep. This is not very easy when not a few moments earlier I
almost left dung in undergarments. I really really hate this cave.
As we continued on we found a crack in the ceiling. Using Amrielles
whip, we climb up into it. This horrible creature awaits us. It is
the rotting flesh of a griffon awoken by a dark and terrible magic.
It was 30 feet tall, with razor sharp talons. We battled it fiercely
while Clayton tried to get this fat ass up the hole. I used every
trick in my possession while Kieran brought the pain with his magic.
I must say Kieran is getting more versed in the arcane every day. I
must try harder to not piss him off in the future. Amrielle keeps
looking at him differently too, I wonder if she is noticing his Arcane
skill as well. Maybe she is noticing something else. Anyways, as we
battle the Undead Griffon I see that we are on the losing side. I did
the most disgusting thing, but the situation called for it. A new
trick Ive learned. I let out a roar and my skin gets harder as I turn
into a Troglodyte. This must have upset the giant bird because he
decided to make me take a nap shortly after. Roderick tried his best
to use his divine gifts to keep us alive. We failed him though. He
took his last breath by our sides. Fighting to the end to save us.
With a final flick of the Wand of Magic Missle I found in the cave,
the Rotting Bird laid to rest. The price was too high though. This
entire Journey was not worth Rodericks life.
Inside the white circle, in the room of the undead griffon was
inscribed “Here lies Ocho Orindo, First son of Uthgar… “ It went on
telling of Ochos many exploits. The Rocks that should be stacked over
his corpse are tossed about, and the body is gone. A broken Griffon
Idol that eminates magic is by this monument. Clayton wishes to leave
it, but I show him the error in his logic. He picks it up and takes
it with him. The hallway to the right of the resting ground has an
uneasy silhouette burned into is wall. The silhouette is of what we
can assume to be a barbarian and another wearing a crow of horns. The
crown was here! This hall is trapped with flame. Amrielle rushes
through it instead of listening to me. I’m used to it though, she is
a woman after all. 2 magical bolts hit her in the chest, letting her
know I was right. A skeleton appears much like we have seen before.
A Baneguard. Using the wand of Magic Missle Kieran slowly breaks down
this Baneguards bones. We learn the command ward for this door in the
hallway. “Uthgaratch”. We make our way out of the shining white
again. When we return of course our horses are gone, the pen is
destroyed, and there are dire wolf tracks leading out. We never seem
to catch a break…
