Trill’s Journal

As I slept in just a little bit due to the vigorous exercise of the
night before, I woke up remembering exactly why I love the Night Cloak
and some of its… let’s say hospitalities so much. My dear friends
Roderick and Clayton in their foolishness decided that the church of
Lathander was a better choice. How or why they came to that
conclusion, I will never know or care to understand. Khieran and
Amariel went to the Ivy mansion to scry on Trump. Those two are all
work and no play. I’ve told Kheiran that he needs to let loose some
more… I wonder if he has a thing for that little ranger… ahh that
would explain it! Kheiran you dog! I find myself now more proud of
Kheiran and his trickery…
So the others tell me that inside the temple of Lathander they found
holes in the floor with bloody handprints on some rod that was in the
hole. Inside the hole they saw the chairs in the basement they
thought the Turnstone family was tied too. I’m not sure how they got
out; Clayton is normally so good with knots. Come to find out that
they boys had been turned into Gasts, and their father was, hiding in
a crate was turned into something worse… Khieran woke the clerics and
they fought the foul creatures that were once the Turnstones. I’m
sure it was a boring battle because I was not there, but I’m glad none
of my companions were hurt. After speaking with the clerics of the
temple we find out that the temple was not warded correctly. I guess
the wards were to stop humans from entering, not unhumans…

Gathering Information around the city I find out that Sherif Roland
saw some naked purple man running north right before midnight, seeing
as this is not the time of greengrass, this didn’t add up. An old…
acquaintance of mine Martha Roth, also saw a tattoo on one of these
naked purple things. She’s a very crafty and flexible girl… She was
able to even sketch the tattoo. It was shaped like a griffon. Nivian
was rumored to be of the griffon tribe, Clayton and myself decided to
see what information we could pump out of her. We find out from
Nivian that the tribe of Krawlgar Bonesnapper, has these tattoos.
They are a harsh and unforgiving tribe, but they see visitors as
potential allies. She also lets us know that Krawlgar can be won over
by feats of strength and tales of grand valor. This information
proved very useful. I continued to pump more information out of her
after Clayton left, but we will just chalk that up to my charm and
people skills.

Trump, the famous longrider that Kheiran and Amariel were scrying on
a few days ago has a brother named Turk. We found out lat he left
Midsummer last year 1373. Nothing else special happened this day,
just preparing for the road ahead to meet with Krawlgar.

Kythorn 13
Nothing of note.

Kythorn 14
We found some ruins on our journey north and we can see Griffons
overhead. We are getting close to our destination. Bearwyn met up
with us again. I guess he wanted some more of Khieran. While
traveling we came across a huge Ogre. He never stood a chance
though. Khieran seems to becoming more versed in the arcane arts,
much better then me as always. He was able to shoot a stream of
burning fire from his fingertips. I’ll have to ask him to teach me
that someday, it was very impressive. The only thing I seemed to
contribute was trying to keep my horse in check. Father would kill me
if he knew what I’ve put that horse through. That is exactly why he
will never know. Charred Ogre was for dinner promptly after…

Kythorn 15
We found griffon tracks leading South by South west. Some of the
Barbarians from the Griffon Tribe find us. They take us to speak with
Krawlgar Bonesnapper. Their village is well fortified and large.
I’ve never seen a larger gathering of barbarians. They had allied
with orcs and orges in the camp. I could see Amariells blood boil,
but luckily it didn’t get us killed. A 3 story tower in the camp held
Krawlgar. After waiting for what seemed a lifetime we were able to
speak with the Barbarian Lord. Then he had us wait again… and again…
Finally he brought us out and Clayton was supposed to fight one of
their clansman named Rogak in an arena for all the people to see.
Clayton lost, but it was a very close match. Krawlgar was most
impressed. We met with Macario LeDoe, an Illuskan wizard that advised
the tribe and then waited for further instruction. As nightfall came,
at the main campfire in the center of the tribal village Clayton was
to perform in a ceremony along with 4 other boys that looked no older
than 13 winters old. I was able to use a bit of arcane arts to send a
message to Clayton and tell him how to go about the ceremony. He was
then branded and welcomed in as a member of the Griffon Tribe clan.
We then spoke with Krawlgar and he told us of a secret tale:
Shining white in the spine of the world lies the Griffon Tribe barial
mount. It was warded and protected. For several years they haven’t
been able to go there without fighting their ancestors. The shaman of
the griffon tribe draws his powers from the ancestors and he cannot
commune with his ancestors any more. The shaman feels shame for
this. A time ago a king came amongst the tribe. He came with a
frightening presence. They Griffon tribe met this king with force,
but the king and his army of undead were too strong. Eventually the
tribe fell to the King. The king wished to speak with the leader
without proving himself and then left. Next time the shaman tried to
speak with his ancestors, he was warded away. There has been talk
that this king is back. They say the Crown walks during the night.
Khieran told Krawlgar of the alliance of the Grimbone clan and the
Crown. We were given gifts for our information and assistance in
clearing the sacred burial grounds of the Griffon Tribe.

OOC: Awesome, I could totally hear Trill's accent as I read. Also,
there's no h in Kieran. Great job.
