Dear SAFIS Comrades, herewith the GovInn programme and I’d like to bring Michel Bauwens in particular to your attention (keynote on June 4th).
Best wishes,, Irma

Dear friends:
it is a pleasure for me to announce the programme of the 2015 edition of the Governance Innovation Week, which will take place at the University of Pretoria in South Africa from 1 to 5 June 2015.

Since 2013, when the Week was officially inaugurated, we have had a steady increase in the numbers of speakers and participants. We went from just over 20 speakers and 100 participants in 2013, to 70 speakers and 300 participants in 2014. We expect to exceed these figures in June.

After having Susan George, Vandana Shiva and Johan Galtung in the previous editions, this year's keynote speakers include New York Times bestselling author Raj Patel, who will be speaking about alternative approaches to food governance, Richard Wilkinson and Kate Pickett, who will present their bestselling book The Spirit Level discussing the link between greater equality and societal wellbeing, and Michel Bauwens, pioneer and innovator in peer-to-peer collaboration. Other speakers include ecological economist Robert Costanza, former OECD chief statistician and UN co-chair on big data Enrico Giovannini as well as environmental hero and Alternative Nobel Peace Prize winner Nnimmo Bassey.

Our workshops range from discussions on alternative economic paradigms and inclusive development, to new trends in Europe-Africa relations, in environmental governance, in migration policies and in supranational regionalism.

Attached is the programme and more information can also be found on our website www.governanceinnovation.org. Please feel free to share through your Twitter accounts and Facebook pages, as well as to send to your local networks in South Africa. Participation in the Week is free of charge.

All local participants (except speakers) who haven't RSVPed yet, please send an e-mail to govin...@gmail.com indicating exactly which events you would like to attend.

All logistical information will be shared with the speakers in due course.

We trust you will enjoy the Week and will find it inspiring for your work,
     Lorenzo and the GovInn Team
