On: Universal Solidarity with the People of Hiroshima, Nagasaki [Japan ] and of Shinkolobwe [Congo, DRC]
Every year, on August 6 and on August 8, many people all over the world stand up to remember the deadly catastrophes of the disastrous atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, in Japan; which devastated hundreds of thousands of human beings (women, men and children) and destroyed the most beautiful and magnificent environment of those places and other remote areas from Japan; causing various unimaginable human and humanitarian calamities.
While we are showing our sincere and heartfelt compassion and solidarity with the people of Japan (Hiroshima and Nagasaki), the minds and spirits of the people of Congo, DRC remain shocked and troubled; because, without knowing much about it, the uranium (of over 65 % of grade) that was used to make the bombs that were dropped on these Japanese cities came from the Congo’s ‘’earth’’, Katanga, Shinkolobwe.
This is the day to remind that the legacies of this horrible uranium uses are of silence, fear, ignorance and continuous disasters. That is why in many of our writings, in deep solidarity with Hiroshima and Nagasaki (Japan), we always mention that:
[a] Historically, it seems that there is a plan to ignore and to forget Shinkolobwe on purpose; and yet, Shinkolobwe [the Congo], Hiroshima and Nagasaki [Japan] should be allowed to share the same history (story) of disasters in the non-discriminating efforts to rehabilitate and restore all of them; as they share something [uranium] in common.
[b] Geo-politically, secretly and silently, there has been some kind of international competitions over Shinkolobwe’s uranium mine. But nothing concrete and sustainable has ever been initiated to improve and to protect this uranium site; as it still contains immense quantities of the extremely rich uranium of 65% of grade; enough to make more most devastating bombs.
We need to show and express more authority to stop, close and ban all the nuclear games that are about and likely to destroy the world partially or totally.
In Solidarity,
