Hello Google Developer,
We’re writing to remind you that we are fully turning down the SafetyNet Attestation API starting January 31, 2025.
In June 2022, we announced the deprecation and timeline for the SafetyNet Attestation API with regular reminders to developers using the SafetyNet Attestation API to migrate to the Play Integrity API.
The SafetyNet Attestation API will stop working starting January 31, 2025. We’ve provided additional information below to guide you through this update.
We are ending support for the SafetyNet Attestation API. The Play Integrity API replaces the SafetyNet Attestation API to consolidate several device integrity offerings, including the SafetyNet Attestation integrity verdict, under a single API.
Starting January 31, 2025, all calls to the SafetyNet Attestation API will stop working. Developers will see the failure by the task returned from the attest API. This task will always invoke the on failure listener with an ApiException.
The value of the status code will be 7 (NETWORK_ERROR). Developers which have released app versions that use the Play Integrity API should instruct users to update their app. It is not possible to get an extension to use the SafetyNet Attestation API.
You need to migrate to the Play Integrity API immediately to avoid disruptions in detecting risky interactions with your app and fighting abuse.
We’re here to ensure you have a smooth migration. If you have any questions or require assistance, please visit the Play Console Help Center.
Thanks for choosing SafetyNet Attestation API.
