I've posted a description of an $80K traffic study the DVRPC has been
asked to approve which was requested by NJ DOT. The study will study
future (2035) traffic volumes on the 2.5 mile of NJ 70 between I-295
and North Cropwell Road (the Eastside of Route 70) and will simulate
traffic behavior on a number of alternative "build" networks,
including various unspecified "traffic flow improvements" and widening
options.

As a member of the Safer Route 70 committee you can view and download
any of these posts and comment on them and refer other people to our
google groups site (look in your Internet browser).

Residents and businesses along Route 70, especially on the East Side,
should be made aware of this development and its implications. Please
send a note to anyone you know who might be concerned that plans and
studies for widening Route 70 continue.

It would be a good idea for Suzanne to schedule a meeting of the Safer
Route 70 Committee sometime early next year to review developments and
discuss strategies for implementing our report's recommendations,
including working with other groups, such as Sustainable Cherry Hill's
"Way to Go" Committee, which is focused on recommendations for
improving pedestiran, bike, and mass transit usage and improving
travel safety.

The study is summarized in two documents in the Files section of the
safer70 google groups site under the following names:
r70estudy09.pdf and r70e09study2.pdf.
