Hi Rob,
My prior experience in conducting historical research would likely be most useful in tracking down obscure sources related to ionizing radiation, and/or other environmental interests. This would include public health reports, radiological surveys, incident investigation reports, news reports on incidents, and related materials. I also have experience in filing public records requests, both at the local, state and federal levels in the United States.
I imagine that these skills may be helpful in shedding light on certain aspects if there is an incident or geographical area in which Safecast would like to track down more information.
I believe that I could regularly give 7-10 hours per week volunteering for Safecast, and some weeks I may be able to give more depending upon my schedule.
Furthermore I am mobile with a vehicle, and occasionally travel around the State of Minnesota, United States, and would reliably be able to conduct mapping of environmental conditions if it was requested of me.
