Good day all.

After spending some time unsuccessfully looking for a product which could sense radiation and air quality, I have begun development of a prototype. The plan is to have a PCB made professionally once the prototype is working.

So far the system is working with some dummy sensors and a GPS, and transmitting readings to a Postgresql database via HTTP. The plan is to open source the project.

There is much work still to be done. including OTA updates, selecting useful and practical sensors, and to work on how data can be retrieved and/or visualised.

If anyone is interested in collaborating or has suggestions or tips from experience with similar projects, it would be great to hear from you!

For the tech-heads:
  Device:
    ESP32 based
    Connects via local Wifi
    Battery to allow for temporary power loss and mobile operation
    Sensor comms: SDA/SCL, serial, analogue, digital
    Async HTTP for server comms
  Server:
    FastAPI
    Async Python
    Postgresql, and possibly PostGIS

Greetings all;
It would be very good to have an inexpensive and reliable recorder and transmitter usable at everywhere from the produce section of the grocery store to the campus developing Small Nuclear Reactors and "Tactical Nuclear Weapons" at the Idaho National Laboratory, as well as monitoring the leaking tanks at Hanford in Washing
