and I am at the point where you connect the 3 pin iRover and power up.  The electronics passes all tests, even got a few log files and connected to the android and to safecast.
So mostly happy, more questions on all of it later.

When I plug the 3 pin iRover connector in the unit will not power up, not even a light flash.?  I have triple checked the wiring, solder components, solder, moon phase and such.  When I disconnect the power connector and the unit runs fine, I can trigger counts manually and see them in safecast as well.

This main board V1.1r5a  does not match the photo's or the 1.1r4a information at github.?  The 3 pin power connector was moved so the solder leads are no longer under the open log.  I noticed no other visual changes
The voltage across the pins is 3.2v DC correct polarity

Found a solder splatter on the iRover, picked off and now testing.

Nice find, Rich! I've been rooting for you but I know so little about the hardware, sorry to say.

Wondering if Joe or Rob might know something about the V1.1r5a main board change.

Fwiw, my bGeigie (2313) has always run 1.3.4 and it works fine. So I doubt upgrading firmware will impact operation in any significant way.

There are some changes made on V1.1r5a but basically for added Chinese displays and some better layout.

Collected some data, logged to a drive with the android and waiting Safecast approval.
GPS is unstable, resoldered all VCC and grnd and power leads adding bit more solder and seemed to improve. These leads should be soldered onto both sides of the boards where possible.
Documentation would be my pet peeve, yet thanks all in the development team.

Glad to hear you got it working, Rich!

If you have any specific documentation changes you’d like to see, feel free to send them along, open a pull request, or whatever works best for you.

Sounds like we could use some new photos for the updated board at least.

I put this album together, it is public and open.  You are welcome to take any photo's without attribute,  I support open whatevers, mostly.

I highly encourage this kit for schools, it can be just assembled or each piece is a technology marvel in itself to discuss.  Is their an english language teaching aid, maybe for high school level?

Thanks for the support and the services.
