Hi everyone,
I'm not too familiar with the effects of car glass on radiation measurements and was wondering if someone could help clarify the issue for me. I've started to use the onyx paired with an iphone, using the safecast app to take measurements from a car with the window rolled down and geiger tube facing out the window. I know that for the bgeige the instrument sits outside of the car, but inside of a pelican case. A few questions:
1. Does the glass of a car window interfere with the readings, and if so how much?
2. How would glass interference compare to the plastic interference of the pelican case for the bgeigie?
3. Could I put the Onyx inside of a pelican case to mimic a bgeigie and would a clear/opaque case make a difference?
Thanks to anyone that can help me figure this out so I can get my readings as close to the standard way safecast takes measurements.
