New to Safecast

I am a high-school student in Japan, and am considering joining Safecast as a part of my volunteer experience. I thought this was a nice activity since I consider going to the nuclear industry in the future and safe enough for a student like me to join and still at the stage of wondering what Geiger counter I should buy.

I must be honest that the bGeigieZen is a bit too pricey and over my budget. Are there any other Geiger counters that you recommend  that is budget friendly but also has the functions needed for Safecast?

Thank you for contacting us. One suggestion to get involved with Safecast is to ask your high school to organize a workshop where students can build a few bGeigieZen devices as part of a science class. This would be a valuable experience for other students as well.
