Hi all, Matt Alt here - thanks for the Onyx, it's really an amazing piece of equipment.

When I dropped by the offices a few days back Robin wasn't able to get the Onyx to synch with an iPhone using a headphone cable. Is this the wrong cable? Was yours just broken? I don't actually have a two-ended headphone jack cable laying around and wanted to make sure I was buying the right thing. (As an aside I'd be happy to help write an online manual/usage guide if one doesn't exist already.)

Hey Matt-

I emailed this to your directly but thought other might need this info as well. The Onyx (and iPhone) require a cable with 4 connectors. TRRS to be precise. Here's a slightly awkward YouTube video that explains what TRRS is in relation to TRS (3 connector) and TS (2 connector).

Most audio cables are TS or TRS but for the Onyx and iOS app to communicate properly you need TRRS.

Hope that helps!

Also wanted to clarify one thing: you don't need to worry about an in-line resistor in the cable.  The Onyx has that built-in already.  You just need a straight cable.  (but it has to have 4 pins - TRRS)
