to Help Make Vrindavan Safe
i flew outta india and the same day SSP mathura contacted me, he was
quite decent I thought. He assured me that there was going to be
action and asked for all my contact numbers so we could be in touch.
The day after I left, 7 policemen were SUSPENDED pending
investigation, not transfered, this is huge. It includes the former
SSp and SHO who were involved in Lilas case. The doctors who did Lilas
post mortem were detained for questioning because it is not clear if
they did their job correctly(covered up her evidence of rape). The
family members of the boy who murdered LIla have been detained and a
lot of reference to their criminal history is being
investigated...don't really know what is going down but I'm full of
praise for the Chief Minister of UP for instigating it. The SSp told
press that if he doesnt do a proper job of investigating this case
then let him also lose his job so it is quiet serious. The gun is
being investigated..mind you this is all per the rulings made in the
courts so far. It remains to be seem, but it is definately a huge
start.
On the level of safety for all. The police have bought in two lady
cops just for dealing with womens problems and they are restructuring
the police in Vrindavan..so we have definately achieved something!
YAY! I hope when I go back in Febuary we can get more done, at least
at this point we have the ear of the head os state and local
authorities as well. Lets pray positive change becomes a reality.
I still havent posted a letter on the devotee websites promoting the
safe vrindavan petition, I will soon once I decide how to word it
all....
