Thank you for your continued support in recommending students to pursue graduate studies in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University at Buffalo (UB), the State University of New York. As you may have heard, UB is responding to the changing labor market needs by aggressively investing in the development of new innovative programs to better meet the needs of companies and institutions that employ our students.
I wanted to take this opportunity bring to your attention our new fully online program Masters Degree in Data and Information Fusion. The program combines statistical, computational, and design-oriented courses across the school of engineering to provide the multidisciplinary background necessary for development of fusion systems. The program can be completed entirely online making it suitable for individuals working in related industries or government laboratories. The program is administered in connection with UB's Center for Multisource Information Fusion, which has a long history of defense and industry research in this area.
In our program, you will learn how to analyze information from multiple sources and sensors along with information from human reports, databases and social media. Combine that with our multidisciplinary approach to designing and implementing data and information fusion systems, and you’ll have a marketable educational experience like no other.
In fact, data and information fusion field has seen tremendous growth in the last 15 years and has an enormous impact on businesses and society. Specialists are needed in a wide variety of industries – from defense applications for advanced surveillance and reconnaissance systems to robotics, civil infrastructure systems, medical monitoring systems, intrusion detection systems, intelligent transportation systems, and in environmental monitoring applications, to name just a few.
Ranked 20th in the U.S. News and World Report graduate program rankings out of all Industrial Engineering programs nationwide,The UB Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering is one of founding departments of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, created in 1946. We are committed to research and educational excellence across the broad range of industrial and systems engineering disciplines - including operations research, production systems, manufacturing, quality, simulation, and human factors.
Founded in 1846, UB's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences is New York State's largest and most comprehensive public school of engineering. Ranked among the top US engineering schools, we offer a wide variety of world-class instruction, research opportunities, resources and facilities to its students.
