Dear SAE Student Members,
As you may be are aware SAEINDIA, the premier professional society serving the automotive fraternity in India, is growing very rapidly with over 30,000 members and is presently the largest affiliate of SAE International.
Of recent we have witnessed a significant growth of Automotive Sector over the past decade with OEMs expanding their horizons. The automotive component industry, in parallel, has made big strides with rapid progress in manufacturing and technology, abreast with delivery that meets international quality and standards. Even though the recent economic melt down slowed down the growth, mobility industry has shown commendable resilience in facing this challenge and bouncing back with more confidence. Particular mention should be made of R&D and technology innovation efforts undertaken by the industry to reduce cost and enhance offerings with more features, better quality and performance. The industry has reached this maturity level and continues to grow because of availability of technical skill sets and the large talent pool in the ecosystem that positions it to launch large sustainable mobility projects.
In light of this backdrop, SAEINDIA is organizing APAC 16 ( Asia Pacific Automotive Engineering Conference) , an International Mobility Engineering Conference from 6th to 8th Oct, 2011 in Chennai to bring together mobility practitioners and stake holders to a vibrant platform to share, discuss and arrive at innovative & smart solutions for Sustainable Mobility. APAC is organised biennially by FISITA, which is the International Federation of Automotive Engineering Societies. The Conference will attract close to 1000 delegates from different parts of the globe such as US, Europe, Korea and all other parts of Asia. The theme of the conference is “Sustainable Technologies for Safe & Smart Mobility”
There will also be an Exposition along with one stall for AWIM, BAJA, SUPRA each and various stakeholders, such as the vehicle manufacturers, component and aggregate suppliers from all over the world and particularly from the Asia Pacific region have an excellent opportunity to show case their products and services.
I am very pleased to inform you that the Steering committee of APAC 16 have agreed to allow all the student who have valid SAEINDIA Membership Card to visit the Expo without any charge Only on Thursday, 6th Oct. 2011 between 10.00 AM to 4 P.M.
Students are requested to maintain proper discipline while in the APAC16 Expo.
