"69 years of tradition of excellence in Engineering & Technology Education, Research and Innovations" Delhi Technological University, (formerly Delhi College of Engineering) came into existence in the year 1941 to cater the needs of Indian industries for trained technical manpower with practical experience and sound theoretical knowledge."

The Mechanical Engineering Department of Delhi Technological University (formerly Delhi College of Engineering) has an active SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) student chapter, a first in India and one of the largest student chapters in the world. This is the only student chapter in India which takes part in almost all student vehicle design competitions of SAE like Formula Students, Mini Baja, Super Mileage, Alternative Energy Vehicle besides other international vehicle design competitions.

The SAEINDIA-DTU CHAPTER in the year 2011-2012 has witnessed the highest membership in the history of this chapter. Under the able guidance of Prof. S. Maji & Prof. Samsher SAEINDIA - DTU CHAPTER has conducted several lecture workshops, GDs, Quizzes and industrial visit. 

CHIMERA, the annual technical festival by SAEINDIA - DTU CHAPTER has been revived and its module so decided so as to make students technically aware of the automotive world and also equip & impart them with abilities needed in today’s world. With participation from departments including Mechanical, Production, Automobile & Electrical, CHIMERA proposes to conduct a series of workshops including CAD, FEA, Professional Sketching & a series of lectures which will create a knowledge base enough for students to put their theoretical expertise into practice.

SAEINDIA - DTU CHAPTER  is hosting the First ever workshop GARAGE-ONE: The Complete Automotive Workshop in Northern India on Automotive and Engine Design, organized by SAEINDIA and SGT International, certified by Society of Global Technocrats-International, SAEINDIA and AIESEC Chennai. This workshop has been designed to provide an insight view in the field of automotive and engine design to the engineering graduates and technocrats. It aims at bridging the gap between the college curriculum and the industry environment. METAWING are the pioneers in conducting an interactive workshop in INDIA so that the students can enhance their knowledge and experimentation skills.

OPEN ENGINE DEMONSTRATION, 30 Analysis Tests, Complete assembling and dissembling of a Commercial Car. You get a certificate of appreciation from SAE-INDIA and 1 year membership of SGT international + 2 year licensed SOLIDWORKS software and lots more ...
