What a summer for James Edmonds!

After being accepted into the prestigious Hudson River Fellowship, James Edmonds flew back to San Francisco just in time for the opening of the Drawings show at John Pence with 3 of his drawings included in the exhibition. 

Now he's all rested up and ready to start teaching Figure Drawing Classes starting this September 2nd in our brand new, enormous and skylighted studio!

Students work from a long multi-session pose to create a realistic figure drawing in the classical academic tradition.

Approaching figure drawing with traditional academic methods will strengthen your drawing ability whether you are an absolute beginner or an experienced artist.

This ongoing class is open to all levels, beginning to advanced, and is intended for long term ongoing study towards gaining true mastery.

Instructor: James Edmonds 

James Edmonds is a realist painter in the academic tradition. In 2006, he graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Illustration. He then spent two years studying classical drawing and painting techniques under Carl Dobsky. In 2009, he rode his bicycle from Seattle, WA to Nicaragua, filling sketchbooks along the way. He currently lives and works in San Francisco, CA.

James teaches cast and figure classes in the Full Time Atelier , Summer Drawing Intensive, and Saturday afternoon Figure Drawing .
