Root Cause of Fights in the Family
Question - What is the root cause of quarrels, fights, strife and disquietude in the family?
Answer - Self-interest is the root cause of all quarrels, strife and disquietude in the family. Everyone wants his desire to be fulfilled, longs for favorable circumstances, wants to lead a comfortable and luxurious life, longs for his own glory and has an axe to grind. As dogs play together loving, but start quarreling as soon as they get a piece of bread. i.e. the quarrel for their own selfish motive, just like human beings quarrel.
He who has a longing for his own comfort, is an individual rather than a member of the family. A member of the family is he who thinks of the welfare of all the members, old, young, and of equal age and does good to them. Therefore he who instead of quarrels, wants quietude in the family, should think of his own duty and the rights of others. That is, he should perform his duty and do good to others, honor others and provide comfort to others.
