My respected Sirs, friends, brothers, sisters,   I have been sending emails to you all in this chain for about three years now.. In fact the minimum number of mails sent by me is 900.  It is too huge and taxing for many of the recepients.  In fact I have no claims to immortality as a philosopher, a scholar in Sankrit, or an expert in anything.  To be frank, I am a person below average, an underperformer and an abysmally placed under achiever.  I have never cared about your likes or dislikes or whether you are just tolerating me like a mosquito bite or something.  Of course there are some faithful friends who respond and welcome my mails, my pranams to you.  There were few (very few ) others who asked me to stop such mails forthwith in all candidness and I have dutifully obeyed them.  But the huge chunk of my cyberfriends are silent.  I am not in a position to guage the reaction in anyway. The mails do go to my blog kanfusion and there if am to believe the counter about 46000 persons have visited and seen some entries, in a span of about two years. It is a fairly happy thing for an unorganized blog without any commercial ambitions. 
Still I want to know where I stand.   Now my mails have tapered down, because I am busy otherwise and I am not keeping good health. But I know I have at least on occasions like a flash in the pan, produced some posts of eternal value.  I do not know which are such posts exactly.  My earnest request to you all is that please help me to gauge the impact of my mails. If for some it is an imposition on their mailboxes, please tell me to stop them. If they are welcome please tell me,, so that I shall be motivated to proceed further.  I know some of the posts especially from Chanakya etc, were used by many in their academic way. Please inform me if such things are useful.  My stories from Panchantanatram, Garuda, Ramayanam  and such classics are of great value in my reckoning.  But I do not know if the recepients feel so.
Now it is time that I review my list of friends in the email chain, whether I have to prune, expand, or stop altogether.. this is a question that is nagging me.  I would request some replies from not the regular friends, I know them and they know me.. but from a few who appear to be absolutely neutral in this matter.
Please give me a feed back.. It is a favour for me.  Every person who writes things that he is a Shakespeare or Wordsworth.  I have no such illusion.  I started this only with the utmost sincerity of purpose.  Now I want to know if it is relevant, more relevant, less relevant or useless at this poin of time.  I pray feedbacks.   K V Ananthanarayananan.

One friend has given such  a feedback.. I would rather put it to my friends to evaluate.  I think I am not in a position to have an evaluation committee and all, and I do not know from where my friend has acquired the idea that I am propounding advaita philosophy.. I write on so many things.. and I would request my friend to first go to the sources to see whether there is any value addition.  I never asked him to give me the title of guruji.. it is a big joke..  It is for the recepients to evaluate. To criticize is easy.  I never said I am a vyasa or shakespeare or what he calls, a Nochur.

Rating for quality of your emails is 40% only. See reasons below.  When are you going to rise to at least 75% ?

The quality of your emails are very low compared to lectures given by Nochur Venkatraman. You are simply going on translating texts. So far I do not see much  value addition from your emails. No tatwam.  

I am forced to conclude you have to give up your Guruji title -- i am doubtful how much knowledge you have of advaitam v. dwaitam. No such knowledge is visible in your emails.

There is no para where it says source - Garuda Puran says like this, Bhagavatam says like this, Dr. M. said like this in his book of 1925 ... you should always give different views.

There is no quality control in your emails. You have to submit it to experts who will review it and send you review comments -- grammar, spelling, wording, consistency, style -- ease of understanding -- content of story v. tatwams v. morals v. references.

Yours writings will be rejected from wikipedia.  No citation or references to original treatises or professional writings. No pramanam. No aadhaaram.

Take recent garuda story emails -- sending emails in glaring red bold characters is wrong. It hurts readers' eyes. We are accustomed to emails in black lettering like this.

Do you read any of the emails you send?  Why not?  Why don't you read it, review it and format it nicely before sending?  Why you are not putting some images or diagrams in your emails? Why there is no image of Garuda?  There are thousands available in internet.

Have you compared your Garuda story against Amar Chitra Katha's Garuda story?  The comics is 100 times better presentation than yours. They maintain consistency.  The words used are an easy flow. 

Please merge all your Garuda stories emails into one pdf. Have it reviewed by two or three experts. Bring quality into what you simply spit from your mind.  Then circulate. 

Of what use is your sending so many emails if quality check is not there?  Have you considered inviting comments from two or three experts in facebook?  You are simply behaving like an irresponsible bully.  Pushing everybody standing in queue and getting first into the bus !!!  This is wrong. What is the use of writing low quality text and publishing it?  All good books in shops are  reviewed by two or three people before printing. And you are supposed to incorporate review comments into the stories or other things that you publish.

I am wondering... were these not just blogs posts those which are coming in as a first view? For someone like me (who does not understand tamil and sanskrit) these translations are useful. Tough I realize they are not peer reviewed. Again, is a peer review actually necessary? Would peer review not take away the alma mater from important writings those would have come from within and then induce a bias? I have many times by myself noticed when writing out in groups, that I would have written something strange subconsciously, and the same later falls in line to the argument. Who knows for sure when GOD interferes?

I always enjoyed your mails. Please ignore all those dissenting and negative voices. These are inevitable in any field of work at any time. When Rama was there, Ravana was also there. This is a forum for sharing whatever one feels good to share so long as it is not abusive and offensive to other members. This  is not a forum where one is judged for not matching with Sri Nochur or any one's idol or personal preference. 

There are many many here in this forum who are rendered intolerant and judgmental by an innocent and well-meaning Sri Nochure or any other personally preferred, individualized standard of comparison,

Sri KVA, you need not give his note to be reviewed by 'experts'. You need not give the references the way preferred by a TVL or anyone here. You need not categorize or classify your posts in any manner that satisfies any individual member here.

This forum is a buffet of offerings of different tastes to members with different tastes.

Members of this forum do not comment on what they do not like the taste of so long as there are other who like the same. This is for the state of decorum in Sadgoshthi.

Sir please continue. There are detractors for all good work. This world can find fault with just anybody -  the puny statured Sisupala could find 100 faults with a great Avatar.

I have been watching the thread of discussion but did not give any comments as commenting in aadarniya KVA ji is showing a lamp to sun. I feel that shri lakshmanjji has crossed the laxman rekha of decency.

there  are Critics of two types 

 

• one who takes up the mantle of critic, as he is envious and can not rise to the level who has been criticized by him. 
• the one who wants to encourage to bring out the best out of him. the criticism is constructive. If there are no comments than his approach to the subject is in correct line. so he should not be deterred a few comments here and there.
• If possible avoid washing dirty linen in public

Dear Shri.KVA Sir,   I am a silent follower and true benificiary of your great great translations.   The time at which the contents of many of your messages land in my mail box are so appropriate for my mental concerns prevailing then, that I feel there is a divine hand behind your act of translation and posting.   As much as there are critics there are also not so eloquent silent benificaries like me in this thread.   I remember the wordsof the great Avvai patti   நெல்லுக் கிறைத்தநீர் வாய்க்கால் வழியோடிப் புல்லுக்கும் ஆங்கே பொசியுமாம் - தொல் உலகில் நல்லார் ஒருவர் உளரேல் அவர்பொருட்டு எல்லார்க்கும் பெய்யும் மழை. 10 Nelluk-kiraitha nIr vAikkAl vazhi ohdi pullukkum AngE  posiyumAm - thollulagil nallAr-oruvar ularEl  avar poruttu ellArkkum peyyum mazhai.   The water let out for the paddy fields runs in a stream and nourishes also the grass which grows around. In fact just by seeing your email ID I get to remember Sri Guruvayurappan and do His smaraNa.

There is no doubt your emails are a great treat in this great forum. Please continue at your most convenient pace and ease. You already showered so much of knowledge-filled emails that even if we keep re-reading the past mails only, we will still be feeling similarly refreshed as before.

Regarding Sri Lakshman's mail - I am not sure if he is part of SadgoshTi - if he were not, I wish to otherwise reach out to him and advise some methods of relaxation. My feeling is, he must be a bit frustrated due to some other pressures may be things like having got to reside in a foreign country :( and gave it vent through the email!!

Your humility is quite evident in taking such obviously ill conceived email and thinking so much about your own emails!!

I am one of the many benefeciaries of this wonderful group Sadghoshti. Am eternally thankful to my manager/friend Bilal Mohammed, who has introduced me to this lively group.

 

Firstly I request you all to excuse all of us who are not replying many of the mails we receive, for various reasons like inability or for not feeling to be able to appriase the valuable info in the mails,

but I also agree that we could have atleast said thanks for the time and efforts spent by the active memebrs in assimilating the info and sending across.

 

Am still a beginner to understand different intricacies of life even after being already 29 with a 2.5 yr old kid.

 

Like every one else in this world I too desire to be at peace and happy irrespective of the external conditions and situations we were put in, yet not taking right actions in the right direction to acheive it. 

This requires lot of maturity, knowledge and the most important one to use of all the skill set sets and knowledge we posess, the wisdom of doing the right thing in right way at the right place.

I understood that we can have this wisdom only by practise of principles we decided to stick onto to become what we dream of. The invaluable experiences and messages shared by eminent personalities

in this group has been silently doing effective "Man Making" on a broader scale to many of silent admirers.

 

The variety of topics being raised, discussed and shared on this platform were helping us to learn and avoid common mistakes and to keep us healthy both physically and phsycologically.

 

I personally would beg all of the active members not to stop their contributions which would be a great loss for many people like me.

 

" Let noble thoughts come to us from all directions" ( Aano bhadra krtavo yantu vishwatah), this is the simple way of learning as far as I know.

 

The lessons I learn will help me in helping my child to choose the right path and to give him right inputs from early stages so that he stand better chance to win the life and be at peace.

Each one of you have tremendously contributed for the betterment of my mind.

Please ignore the negative criticisms. This is not an university or some perfect

stage where we have judges to do critical quality checks. Also, in my opinion, we have the best moderator, Dr.Bharadwaj who has been meticulously overseeing this 

group and is doing a timely intervention wherever required. I feel that this is more than enough in an informal group like sadgoshthi for knowledge sharing.

I have a folder created in your name and many regular contributors. I treasure all of your mails carefully by applying the automatic filters. I may not read all of them. But

I do read them whenever I get time and learn a lot.

Radhe Krishna, There has been lot many views to the mail our brothers Sri.Ananthanarayanan Vaidyanathan Ji had requested which resulted in many individuals opinion towards the positive aspect and few negative aspect to his posting, I would like to add up my little known views which in my opinion makes sense and pl remember these are only my thoughts and request our e-satsang members to own or disown my views.   Nobody can renounce the world all at once. This world is only Maya to delude us and entrap us into the nets. If we wish to remain always as a worldly man with low thoughts, debasing desires, we can by all means do so. We are at perfect liberty. The nature of mind is always filled with passion and impurity and hence will be clouded with perverted intellect, One day our mind which always needs excitement will understand that this world cannot give us the satisfaction we want, because all objects are conditioned in time, space and causation. There are death, disease, old age, cares, worries and anxieties, fear, loss, disappointment, failures etc. We cannot find rest of mind even for a single second.   There is no man in the world who is not divine by nature. The divinity in man differs only in degree, but not in kind. God has bestowed free will on man, with which to make or mar our divine life.   Coming to propagation our swamiji would say that, two types of workers, social andreligious, are necessary in this world. Social workers will work in their own fields of activity. Religious workers will carry on special propaganda and dissemination of spiritual knowledge. A carpenter has his own field of work and an electrician has his own field. You cannot ask a carpenter to do the work of an electrician and the electrician to do the work of a carpenter.   Social, economic, political and industrial development and constructive work in those directions are very much necessary to the outer world, likewise spiritual growth of a person to realize the inner world is also required and cannot be ignored.   The easiest method of developing spiritual knowledge is to hear again and again the glories of Lord. Each time we hear the Lord’s Lilas and glories, an image of the Lord is formed in our mind. And when we go on hearing the glories of the Lord, in due course, the Lord’s image in our mind gets strong and bright like the piece of wax which a goldsmith uses for collecting the gold particles which fall on the ground while cutting gold pieces, accumulates gold in it every day, and after some days, itself begins to shine like a piece of gold.   The most important aspect is, we truly believe our Vedas and our age-old scriptures... are the foundations of our religion and certainly needs to be glorified, preserved and protected.   Our swamiji H.H. Muralidhara Swamiji further says that “The world would not have known about the Avatar of Rama had not Valimiki written Srimad Ramayana. Likewise, we would have known nothing about the Lord’s Avatar as Krishna if Veda Vyasa had not written Srimad Bhagavatam. Propaganda is absolutely necessary if any message has to reach the people. Secondly, it is only through propagation and awareness more and more who are today seeking material comforts will tomorrow be seekers after truth. It is only through propagation they too can be inspired to lead the divine life, practice Sadhana for attaining Self-realization.
