1. A Tiranga bike rally will be organised from the Red Fort to the Parliament on August 3. Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi urged members of all political parties to attend it.

2. Over 77 crore portable transactions recorded under One Nation-One Ration Card Scheme 

3. Water supplied by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority will now be costlier, with the authority announcing a 5% hike in the bulk water supply.

4. The Lok Sabha  passed the Wild Life (Protection) Amendment Bill, 2021, seeking to increase the species protected under the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972, and implement the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, CITES.

5. Home Minister Amit Shah has said that Har Ghar Tiranga programme is a message to the world that every citizen of India, as per the vision of the constitution makers, as per the expectation of the constitution is united to take forward India's journey of development, prosperity, security and culture.

6.  *ANDHRA PRADESH* : Over 50 women working at a company in the Brandix Special Economic Zone in Andhra Pradesh's Anakapalle district fell sick following suspected gas leakage. The employees, who complained of nausea, stomach ache, cough and suffocation, were admitted to the government hospital at Anakapalle.

7.  *DELHI*: Police has told the High Court that it was not in favour of bars and restaurants serving liquor till 3 am. The Delhi Police and Excise Department were asked to constitute a consultative group to examine the issue.

8. *GUJARAT* ;: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday released its first list of 10 candidates for the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections. The party said the candidates include members of tribal, backward and scheduled caste communities. 

 9. *J&K* Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, told Amarnath devotees to visit the shrine before August 5 due to predictions that weather would turn more inclement later. The yatra is scheduled to end on August 11.

10.  *MAHARASHTRA* : Responding to Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray's "traitor" remark, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde on Tuesday said if he and his supporters had been traitors, they would not have received support from the state's people. 

11. The newly formed Maharashtra government led by CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis has set a new record by issuing 749 government resolutions in a month.

12.  *MANIPUR* CM N Biren Singh said that the state will urge the Centre for early completion of India-Myanmar border fencing work after resolving the border dispute. Responding to queries raised by Congress MLA K Ranjit Singh in the Assembly, CM Biren said that the border fencing of 5.6 km from border pillar number 79 to 81 has been presently completed.

13.  *WEST BENGAL* : PM Modi on Tuesday expressed anguish at the loss of lives after a van was electrocuted in West Bengal and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased. At least 10 people died and 14 others were injured in West Bengal's Cooch Behar district after a pickup van carrying passengers en route to neighbouring Jalpaiguri got electrocuted.

14.  *NEW APPOINTMENT* : Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer Shweta Singh was appointed as a Director in Prime Minister's Office (PMO) for the period of three years.

15. The World Bank has appointed Auguste Tano Kouamé as the Country Director for India, effective. He replaces Junaid Kamal Ahmad who recently completed a five-year term.

1.  *MADHYA PRADESH* Police have arrested a man for allegedly supplying arms to Khalistanis. The accused, identified as 22-year-old Asan Singh, was arrested in Burhanpur and several country-made pistols were recovered from him.

2. *KARNATAKA*:  Police on Tuesday arrested two more persons, 32-year-old Saddam and 42-year-old Harris, in connection with the BJP Yuva Morcha worker Praveen Nettaru's murder case. Two others, Zakir and Shafiq, were arrested in connection with the case on 28 July. Praveen Nettaru was hacked to death by two bike-borne miscreants on July 26 in Bellare in Dakshina Kannada district.

1. CHINA OBJECTS TO INDIAN AIR ACTIVITIES NEAR LAC: China has lately been raising objections over major air activities carried out by India near the Line of Actual Control (LAC), particularly in the eastern sector, two government officials familiar with the matter. 

Already the objections were discussed between local commanders of the two sides. one of the discussion points in the 16th round of military talks between India and China was to keep each other informed of any air activity that either side may plan.

This includes routine helicopter sorties for transportation of men and equipment for construction works as well as drone operations conducted within the Indian side of the LAC.

2. China said People's Liberation Army  Eastern Theater Command will conduct a series of military operations near Taiwan island starting from Tuesday night.

3. India exported military hardware worth Rs 42,499 crore since 2018-19, according to details provided by the government in Rajya Sabha on Monday.

1. PM Modi and President of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih held one on one, restricted and delegation level talks in New Delhi 02 Aug.

2. India has raised concerns over the upcoming visit of a Chinese surveillance ship to Sri Lanka next week, reports said on Tuesday. The matter of Yuan Wang 5's docking was raised by India at the highest level in Colombo, reports said, following which Sri Lanka said it will only stop to refuel.

3. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will be visiting Cambodia from 3rd to 4th August. During the visit, he will attend the ASEAN-India Ministerial Meeting in Phnom Penh.

4. The 11th round of India-Switzerland Foreign Office Consultations held in New Delhi.

5. Somalia's Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre on Tuesday named Mukhtar Robow, former deputy leader of al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabaab terrorist group, as the Minister for Religious Affairs. Robow had split from the group in 2013 and publicly denounced the group when he came to the government side in 2017. Al-Shabaab fighters have killed tens of thousands of people in Somalia.

6. Nancy Pelosi’s office said “Our visit is one of several Congressional delegations to Taiwan – and it in no way contradicts longstanding United States policy.

ICC World Cup features only around 10-12 teams. So you can understand that if only 10 nations are there in the world cup then its scope is too small for global games like Olympics.

When a liquid is cooled, more molecules are brought closer together and need to be

closer together and need to be accommodated in a smaller area. This resudensn most solids having a greater density than liquids. Not so with ice. Water consists of positively-charged hydrogen atoms and negatively-charged oxygen atoms. When water cools, the hydrogen bonds adjust to hold the negatively-charged oxygen atoms apart, which prevents the ice from becoming any denser. So for water, the density actually decreases along with a decrease in temperature - causing ice to be less dense than water!
