Landscaping issue #2

We'd like to find out if Crabapple clipped our crape myrtle seedlings in our front yard. We had 3 seedlings that we've been nurturing for over a year that were about 1.5 feet high that we had planned to transplant to another location.  On Friday, July 3, we noticed in the morning that they had been chopped to the ground.  Crabapple had Section 1 pruning on their schedule, so we thought it might have been them, even though they have never pruned anything in our yard prior to now. We had requested when we first moved in that the landscapers NOT prune anything in our yard.
