Good morning,
In reference to the email I received last night. I have a cute few questions regarding the change in policy on Pool parties. We have never allowed pool parties in our community and it seemed like it was for obvious reasons. Our Pool has very specific instructions regarding loud music and the consumption of alcohol. I find the most Pool parties include both of these things. Also, with a large group of people with only two residents to supervise, I do believe this opens us up to liability due to Pool injuries and possible drownings.
Aside from that, let me put to you a few scenarios that you can explain how this is going to work. It is the Fourth of July and I plan to spend the day at the pool. I show up and someone has scheduled a pool party so therefore I have to go home. I have a few family members are in for a visit from out of state and we go over to enjoy the pool for a few hours and there is a pool party therefore I have to go home. What if I work Monday through Friday and Saturdays and Sundays are my two days to enjoy the pool, but I can’t because someone is having a pool party.
Where the Pool is concerned, I think people forget that that is an amenity designed and paid for by residents. It is primarily for our enjoyment, however, we do allow a courtesy for a guest now and then. It is my opinion that pool parties are going to prevent me from enjoying an amenity that I pay for and should not have to turn around and go home because someone else is throwing a loud party.
Ask, I wonder if you considered the noise level this is going to create for those who live close to the pool. Thank you for your time with this matter , and I look forward to hearing your response to my concerns.
