Hi all SME 145 members,
I want to extend an invitation to next week's meeting on May 23 at Sacramento City College (8 to 11 am). This meeting is focused on addressing the immediate employment needs for manufacturing companies throughout the region. As a region, we want to establish a better pipeline for fostering qualified and motivated employees. We ask that you review the information presented and provide your input on gaps in skills, courses, and programs throughout the region in order to generate a series of action plans we can execute as a region.
Please forward this invitation to other manufacturing companies you have in your network.
The primary takeaways of this meeting will be
- Learning about current manufacturing programs throughout the region
- Learning about general information on the community college course structure (and its flexibility)
- Learning about a case study of SVMI partnership with Sierra College on a CNC mill course
- Participating in a brainstorming session on creating actionable plans with the information provided (Start around 9:20 am)

Also, please consider sending another person to represent your company if you are not personally available. Having multiple perspectives and points of view are instrumental for colleges to be able to support as many businesses in the community as possible.
