Good day everyone, you are receiving this email because the City of Santa Ana limits its notification of development projects to a 500' radius. You are likely outside of the 500' boundary.

Agenda items for the Monday, March 23rd Planning Commission meeting, including the One Broadway Plaza office tower (OBP), were moved to a Special Meeting of the Planning Commission, now scheduled for Monday, March 30, at 5:30 PM. To attend the virtual ON-LINE-Only meeting one must connect to the City's website. Instructions on how to participate are not currently available. I requested the City publish this information as soon as possible.

One Broadway Plaza is a 37-story office tower project, and will generate over 3,000 daily vehicle trips, with impacts on Main Street, Broadway, Civic Center Drive, Washington Avenue, and also increase cut-trough traffic in French Park, and the adjoining neighborhoods, including the Downtown, French Court, Logan, Lacy and Willard.

Please send an email to the addresses below (which includes the City Council and the Chair of the Planning Commission) to urge the Planning Commission to recommend traffic mitigations be applied to the One Broadway Plaza project at the March 30th, 2020 hearing.

1. Tell the Planning Commission, and the City, that you want it to require the One Broadway Plaza project to prepare:

    * a Multi-Neighborhood Traffic Mitigation Plan to include, but not be limited to:

    * barriers to divert cut-through traffic away from area neighborhoods

    * speed humps and striping to slow traffic when vehicles pass through neighborhoods

    * signage to move drivers away from neighborhoods, and toward the freeway or other exit roadways, and to

           * work with each of the impacted neighborhoods and their associations, including the French Park Villa Association

2. Request that One Broadway Plaza prepare a new Environmental Impact Report (an EIR). The current EIR is 20 years old. We need updated information on traffic, air quality, and public safety to protect area neighborhoods..

3. Let the City know that the small number of affordable housing units, proposed as part of the office tower, should not be segregated or isolated to separate floors, as is now planned.

4. Tell the City to require One Broadway Plaza to provide park space to mitigate its 400+ apartment units (on 19 floors), and 18 floors of office space.

Attached is a spreadsheet of other planned apartment projects which will also impact area neighborhoods. Like One Broadway Plaza, none of these projects provide protections against increases in vehicle traffic, which will impact public safety and the quality of life of area neighborhoods. Refer to this information when you prepare your email. Links to a list of current development projects, and a link to the One Broadway Plaza project, is below.
