The two most defining features of the latest phase of the BJP poll campaign:
I. Coordinated attempts to stir up rabid anti-Muslim hysteria, trigger Hindu-Muslim conflicts and polarisation.
II. Towards that, resort to out-and-out toxic false propaganda.
(Consequently, whatever welfare promises made in its poll manifesto, Sankalp Patra, released only on April 14th are just abruptly set aside.)

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Banswara speech on April 21st is a textbook illustration of both these features.
(Ref.: <https://www.facebook.com/share/p/cd59VWkgkuMR1yWY/>.)
And now follows Union Home Minister Amit Shah: (ref.: <https://indianexpress.com/article/cities/kolkata/amit-shah-bengal-voters-seats-ram-mandir-9286716/lite/>) with his chilling promise of driving out *all* "infiltrators" in return for 35 seats from Bengal.
(Forget not, Modi made no whatever distinction between "Muslims" and "infiltrators" in his Banswara speech.)

Goes without saying that this nefarious project could have not gone ahead so smoothly without the blatant cooperation by the (supposedly independent) Election Commission, which opts to remain just paralysed despite the torrent of public outcries.
