Title: Monitoring Analyst – BMC, Nagios, Citrix, VMWare
Location: Seattle, WA
Duration: 6+ months
Type: Contract to Hire
*** H1s, GCs, US Citizens are all OK for this position
Description
Our client is looking to bring a Monitoring Analyst to their growing team.
The ideal candidate should have administrative experience with Enterprise Monitoring Tools such as eG Innovations, BMC Portal/Patrol/Proactivenet, IBM Tivoli, CA Spectrum, or HP ITPS.
Responsibilities/Duties
Administrative experience with enterprise monitoring tools including setup, configuration and monitoring various critical software and infrastructure systems.
Create scripts for patches and threshold alerts.
Assure that alerts reach the appropriate internal parties.
Experience in an enterprise environment with more than 500 systems.
Experience with tools such as eG Innovations, BMC Portal/Patrol/Proactivenet, IBM Tivoli, CA Spectrum, or HP ITPS for Operations.
Qualifications
2+ years’ experience with mainstream centralized-enterprise class monitoring systems such as: BMC Software – Performance Manager (Patrol or Portal).
2+ years’ experience in Systems Administration with Windows environments.
Configuring and managing monitoring systems including BMC, Nagios and other infrastructure management tools.
Strong scripting experience such as shell, PSL, or PERL.
Progressively more complex experience with enterprise class data center infrastructure support.
Demonstrated experience in defining and documenting operational processes.
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have for this Position)
Unix/AIX experience nice to have
