International Choral Festival
in Florence, Italy, 9-12 July 2019!
 
 
LEONARDO DA VINCI INTERNATIONAL CHORAL FESTIVAL is open to all genres of choral singing, even with instrumental presence offering 10 different competititive, and non competitive, categories.
 
After the big success of the first two editions, with 24 choirs, 3 orchestras from 17 different countries, this third edition is going to be really special, in occasion of the 500th Anniversary of Leonardo Da Vinci's death.
 
Again, our friend, the famous former tenor of King's Singers Paul Phoenix, will give a great workshop with the title ‘The Art of Consistent Performance and Audience Engagement’.
 
And, of course, the Final Concert with Opera Choruses conducted by the member of Artistic Committee and Principal Guest Conductor of Florence Choral, the Executive Director af ACDA, Tim Sharp.
 
Our motto is “Prima La Musica”, “Music First", renowned guest Conductors and soloists, only internationally recognized Juries, avaiable for exciting workshops. And also: perfectly tuned Grand Piano in all venues, professional video and audio recordings, stage rehearsals for all participants.

The LEONARDO DA VINCI INTERNATIONAL CHORAL FESTIVAL, Florence, with its architectural scenarios of incomparable beauty, is set to join of the circuit of the best international festivals on the 5 continents.
 
 
 
The Festival concept is focused on the person of Leonardo Da Vinci, principally in the choice of venues, where Leonardo’s father, Ser Piero – a notary in Florence – and Leonardo himself worked. While Leonardo da Vinci is best known as an artist, his work as a scientist and an inventor made him a true Renaissance man.

Principal Guest Conductor,of Florence Choral, Dr. Tim Sharp will conduct the final concert with all participating choirs and full orchestra. He's the Executive Director of the American Choral Directors Association, acclaimed choral conductor, lecturer and writer of numerous books and articles on choral excellence.
 
Performances will be judged by the international Jury whose members include conductors, opera singers and composers.
 Paul Phoenix, Tim Sharp, Heechurl Kim, among others.

3.000 euros and an authentic piece of art  for the winner of the Grand Prix: the reproduction of "La Battaglia di Anghiari" , the lost masterpiece of Leonardo, made by an eminent Florentine artist exclusively for our Festival. Other cash prizes for category winners and Florentine artisans unique pieces as special prizes
 
The Festival will organize meals for all the choirs and orchestras in typical Florentine restaurants serving traditional Italian food with quick service and inexpensive prices, as well as accomodation in the historic city center.
