Dear Graeme

I would like to remind you of our Christmas concerts on 17&24 November. As per usual, the concerts will take place in Rex Church, Sorex Estate, Clubview. Our guest artist is Bambie Heiberg (violin and voice). We are looking forward to making music with her! Please see her CV below.

The programme consists of a combination of solo works, a cappella choir works and Christmas carols. Some of the works that will be performed, are Bogoroditse Devo by Sergei Rachmaninoff, God rest you merry, gentlemen by Ola Gjeilo, Glory, glory, glory to the newborn King by Moses Hogan, Silent night reimagined by Kc Daugirdas, Maria Wiegenlied by Max Reger and Christmas joy medley, as arranged by Gary Lanier.

Tickets are R130 (R50 for children under 12). Book at book...@palissander.co.za.

We hope to see you at one of the performances!

Kind regards

Bambie Heiberg

Bambie is well known as a violinist (soloist and concert master of several local as well as overseas orchestras), soprano (soloist in lieder and oratorio locally as well as overseas), journalist (broadcaster for Monitor and Spitstyd for several years from London) and presently writing a two-weekly Beeld SA property market overview. She is also a Springbok middle distance athlete and won several SA middle distance event titles. She is still a SA record holder in the 4 X 800m women event. At the peak of her athletic career, she received a special award for international rankings in the 3 000 meter for women.

Bambie graduated with a BMus Ed at the University of the Free State in 1981, after which she furthered her studies as a BMus Hons and MMus student (majoring in both singing and violin) at the University of Stellenbosch. She was awarded a Rotary International Bursary to do her DMus research in Salzburg and Vienna and she obtained the Doctor Musicologiae degree in 1990.

Bambie has been a full-time business woman in real estate for the past 29 years and she regards herself as blessed to be actively involved, on an ongoing basis, in both fields of specialisation. As founder and principal of Heiberg Estates, she is a certified residential as well as commercial property specialist.

Her passion and love for music still brings her across many borders and, like last year, she will again perform in Christmas concerts in London this coming December. She regards this performance with Palissander as a highlight on her 2019 musical calendar.
