Mahabalipuram -- One day Cycling trip on December 20 Sunday - Enroll fast times running out....

SUMMARY:
Objective - Cycle from Tidel Park to Mahabalipuram and back.
Difficulty – This is a medium difficulty activity. Participants need to be in good physical condition.
Duration – Sunday early morning till late evening
Distance - Around 90 km from Chennai to ECR and back
Transportation - Own cycles
Expense - around 250Rs (food, water expenses)
Advance – to be paid when joining – 250Rs (difference will be settled later on)

AGENDA
-Assemble Saturday 6:45 am TIDEL PARK main entrance
-Join other Cycles along the route (see Starting points below)
-Leave Chennai before peak traffic
-Ride along ECR till Mahabalipuram
-Lunch at Mahabalipuram, start by 3 pm and reach Chennai at 6 pm.

STARTING POINTS:
(everyone should come 15 minutes in advance - we do NOT wait for latecomers)
TIDEL Park, Taramani, OMR road – 6:45 am

MUST CARRY LUGGAGE:
All participants must carry following items:
Back-pack to carry food, water, snacks
Torch in the cycle for night time cycling
One extra set of clothes
Sun cap and sunscreen
Some energy bars
Food will be taken care of by organizers

POINTS TO REMEMBER:

Please make doubly sure that your cycle is in good condition for the trip.
Please ensure that you have a good seat in the cycle.
A carrier to keep your back pack will be convenient
Knee cap to make long distance cycling slightly comfortable

PS - Need a motor biker to accompany us for the ride. Volunteers pls register as motor bikers.

Cycling to Mahabs

We started this initiative to meet new people and of course have a new experience. The people we met were awesome and the whole 90km of cycling was loads of fun.

The onwards journey started from Tiruvanmiyur and was very much comfortable. Basically fresh legs and cooler temperature made riding a fun. But the journey back home was tought. It was against the wind, sun and uphill riding.The breaks we had in between and the chats there were awesome.

Looking forward to organize more such trips...
