Hi Peter,

I have some doubts, kindly clarify.

Shall I come in bike?
Is there a place to park?
If am coming by bike, Should I come to the point mentioned in the map?

Thanks,
Jeyabal

Around 25 members turned up for our "fitness checkup" this morning at Pallavaram hill opposite the Chennai Airport.

All climbed up from the base with a 10kg (7kg for ladies) backpack along a 30% incline scaling the 100m high peak. The terrain resembles closely to that of Nalapuram and other ranges in the Eastern Ghats and provides a good feel of what to expect on a CTC trek. The peak gives awesome views on the running track of the airport. The test start around 6am and completed by 7am at the local tea shop after which the group dispersed back to home/college/office.

Below are the timings (in minutes) of the 25 participants - average is 10 min, with the fastest clocking in at 8 min and the slowest taking more then 20 min. A timing of 10 min or below is the pre-requirement to join a moderate level CTC trek in order to keep up with the group and avoid delays. We would continue to organize monthly fitness tests where anyone is welcome to participate and self-asses his/her level and readiness for CTC. Do join us the next time!
