One group each weekend for “Mission Blood donation” for cancer & thalassemia patients

Blood cannot be manufactured. It can only be gifted by voluntary blood donors.
Hospitals across Chennai are running extremely short of blood supplies for critical needs following the lockdown from 25-Mar. Amidst the lockdown, patients affected by cancer and undergoing treatment in ICH-Egmore, Adyar Cancer Institure, and the Thalassemia patients in VHS Adyar, who require routine blood transfusion every 15 days to one month, are going through a lot of trouble in arranging blood for their routine transfusion. Delay in transfusion can lead to anaemia, headache, low haemoglobin, pale skin, low platelet count and multiple other reactions for these patients. How you can volunteer for blood donation:
Directly drop by at the blood bank of these hospitals on a time slot basis to maintain the social distancing guidelines.
In an effort to give hope to about 100 patients, Team WCCG Cyclists, Madras Mustangs, Thambaram Thunderbotlz and CRK co-ordinated blood donation of32 donors between 9 am to 2 pm on May 30,2020. A huge thanks to all the donors for coming forward and saving lives.
