Join us for the 41st phase cleanup drive of the Theosophical Society as we continue to restore this beautiful green jewel along the banks of the Adyar river on Wednesday morning.

Theosophical Society Gardens,one of the centuries old Green Cover Heritage symbol of Madras which is also known as the "Huddleston Gardens",lies on the south bank of the Adyar River covering 260 acres. The garden has migratory birds,fruit bats, snakes, jackals, wild cats, mongooses, hares, and a variety of spiders. It is also the place for variety species of trees including the rare mahogany and other trees from across the globe. The garden also has a 450-year-old banyan tree, known locally as Adyar Aala Maram, whose aerial roots cover some 60,000 sq m.


Chennai Trekking Club joins hands with Theosophical Society to clean-up the garbage accumulated along the Adyar River banks inside this heritage symbol and to restore the beautiful green cover oxygen center of namma Madras. ​​Inviting you to be part of this clean-up initiative planned for this Wednesday to support the wonderful Societal and Environmental Cause.Our task would involve collecting the garbage spread inside the gardens and pile it up. We will provide you the gloves and garbage bags to the volunteers.
