A walk into Nanmangalam Reserve forest - Chennai

Hari, where exactly is the Nanmangalam forest located?

The Nanmangalam forest is located off the 100 feet road from Velachery
to Tambaram. Go to Quaid e millat college onad locate the QMC canteen
on the road and the Honda service Centre. Adjacent to the canteen is a
road which leads to the forest. Go on this road for about 1 Km and
then inquire. You will have to turn right into the forest.
The forest is about a 1000 acres. Abandoned quarries store rainwater,
and this forest is home to the barn owl and other birds.
As I said it is a walk and one can do this in about half a day,
suitable for elderly and those who do not want to strain themselves
but still enjoy nature and wilderness.
We walked into Nanmangalam on Saturday afternoon but could not spend
enough time in the forest. Maybe we can do it next Sunday.

It is also a photographer paradise ! Let me search for those bird
shots that I have lying around somewhere.

PS: Incidentally, the entire velachery to tambaram area was a mountain
which was broken down due to quarrying. The nanmangalam reserve forest
alone remains.
