Hi CTC photographers.

I was desparately searching for a Camera backpack in and around chennai. What i came across is the Lowpro bags which costed me around 4900 Rupees. !!!!

Does any one in the club knows a place where we can buy camera Backpacks at a cheaper rate ranging from ( 1000 Rs to 2000 Rs max ).

Here is the custom requirement of any normal photographer would be. It should be capable of holding atleast the following things.
1) camera bodies. - 2 no
2) 70-300 lens - 1 no
3) 400mm prime lens - 1 no
4) 18-55 kit lens - 1 no
5) 105 lens 1 -no
6) and a few accesories like extra battery pack, memory cards, battery charger.
7) A compact camera as well.
8) A small provision where we can hang or tie our tripod to the outside of the bag.

Any suggestions / ideas / discussions / initiative on this would be greatly appreciated. As it would help the fellow photographers of our groug too.

Thanks,
John Immanual

Hi Sudhir,

Please send me the photos and the link where we can know details of
the bags.

If things work out, we can send out a request to all members and we
can do a bulk order which might give us a little more bargain rate.
what say ?

Thanks,
John Immanual

Hi All,

Not sure of the name of the street but as you come from Spencer's
towards Raheja Towers, you take a right turn to the Chepauk Stadium.
As sson as you take the right, there is a police station, oppisite the
police station is a Konica shop. Cross the road, walk 5 store further
down the konica shop, you will come to a old shopping complex, you
will find a number of shop that sell photographic good. The 3rd shop
on your right. Ask them for local camera backpack . These shops make
imitation of the lowepro and targus bags (with weather cover) for 30%
of the original price.

Behind the complex is the lane running parallel to Mount road filled
with photographic equipment. Try there too.

Dear John,

Regarding backpacks at cheaper rate..there is one shop in vadapalani
(Metro...just before Bigbazzar). Its a store where you can get
accessories for
cine cameras.. i had a chance to visit der.. and i got a backpack from
them..Cheaper(around 1.2K) and the quality is ok for me.. (2 bodys 2
lenses,f lash and other accessories and holder for tripod)
Some other packs are der around 1.5 with ability to hold laptop

They may take up the order for custom backpacks... i think.. Please
try to reach them.. and look at the bags..It may help to some extend.

Have a nice week ahead.

Thanks
Sasikumar
