CTC's three day cycling in the ghat roads of the Nilgiri Mountains Objective : 3X50 km (approx) ride in the ghats which includes offroading too Location : Tribal villages around Kodanad, Kothagiri Terrain - Mix of trails and tar roads, rolling elevation Agenda: Leave chennai or other cities by 29th night and assenble in coimbatore by Friday morniing. Day 1 Taking the Nilgiri heritage mountain rail from mettupalayam. starting the ride from Ooty. Exploring the ghat roads around and reach Kodanad by evening. Camp at Kodanad for Day 1 Day 2 50+ Kms around the tribal villages of Kodanad Camp in a tribal village near Kotagiri Day 3 Small hike to a nearby hill top 50+ kms ride and reach mettupalayam Leave by train or bus (sunday evening) Transport : Book your own tickets till coimbatore. Cycles : Transport the cycle of your own by bus or train(if you want to ride your own cycle). Cycles can also be rented from Coimbatore in bulk. Expense : Share cost of food/transport (3K approx incl tickets) Selection Criteria : - CTC stands on the edifice of volunteering. - Preference will be given to fit freshers & CTC regulars who are willing to volunteer in this event. - Volunteers of social events will be given preference.
