Hi Guys

I'm looking for a durable LED Flash light for trekking purpose. I have come across few in Ritchie Street, however, they do not look dependable and most of them come as a rechargable and not battery replacable types.

I know most of you have either bought one in Chennai or abroad. Request you all to share idea on these on the durability, dependablity, price and availability( where do I get?).

I would prefer something more appropriate for trekking cum regular use.

Amazon.com share many models and sizes. Is there a ideal place in Chennai to buy?

Hi All,

Many ppl ask about this LED Lights, I just share my thoughts on this.

One of the MUST carry item for any trek is a torch. And LED light offers high quality light with little power, so most of us are using this.

There is a basic Eveready LED torch, which cost Rs100 and is available in all most all shops. This should be suffice.

If you are looking for some high end torches with gr8 output you have got multiple options.

Either you could ask somebody to bring it from abroad or you can buy it locally as well. (in India, it costs more and less varieties )

If you are planning to get from abroad, there are lots of models available. Choose one fits ur budget and requirement.

Here in Chennai, in Mercy electronics you can find some good torches around 800 bucks, with both rechargeable and normal batteries.

Wild craft showrooms have Trekking Head Lamps which are quite good , compact and easy to use, I guess it will be around 2k.

They also got MAGLITE brand torches, which are extremely good! Little expensive.

Thanks

Diwakar
