Update from SCMA meeting 8-25-10

Hello everyone,

We met with the SCMA board yesterday and presented 060 for membership
to their REO.

This morning we received a call from them stating that they will not
accept us nor any other non-management units. This is quite
unfortunate.

We are now in a place were we need to decide if we want to proceed
with our own REO or not. We were informed that there are two other
groups that have associations that were interested in becoming part of
SCMA. These are the Data Processors and Accountants.

I am attaching my presentation material for you to review.

We need to hear from members of 060 who want to proceed with the REO
process. We also need people who would be committed to working on
this on a regular basis, a lot of time after work, to help move this
along.

I support becoming an REO. I will be unable to assist in the process, however,
as I will be on medical leave for the next approximate 6-9 months.

Hi.  Did you see the attached which is linked to the main County intranet page?  It spells out exactly WHY we need an REO - and as soon as possible!  Please feel free to share this will the group. Maybe some who are on the fence will gain a new perspective.

Thank you Mark. Yes, I support the REO. Unfortunately I am unable to
devote time after work as I have pressing responsibilities at the
moment.
