Food for thought: Though it will be a long time from now, what
benefits do you want to request when we eventually get to the
negotiating table? Try to think of something that would somehow
pertain to our REO only, or that would not apply to all of the other
REO’s. The more specific to our REO it is, the more likely we are in
obtaining it.

1. COLAs
2. Overtime or CTO at time/half, not straight CTO (unless other benefits more in line with managers')
3. Higher allowance for health insurance
4. Basically, benefits should be more in line with managers, without the differential

Politically, I believe that we would have a more powerful negotiating position
if we only ask initially to be made whole and not try to elevate ourselves above
the norm. (These are very political times, and there is
significant media spotlight on salaries/benefits for public employees.)
We should focus on keeping what we have, getting back what we recently lost that
others are still getting, and generally consider what other groups are getting
in current contracts.  I do not believe that we can reasonably expect any better
arrangement than others are getting, so it will be critical to know what the
current standards are. We should also identify what represented group is the
most similar to us in what we can expect, so we can use that
REO's contract/benefits as a guide. I suspect that group may be mgmt, but I am
not sure, since there are some significant differences in mgmt's benefits and
our own.

Personally, I would like to see us get an educational incentive for advanced
degrees (Master's and above).  Any questions, let me know.  Thanks.  Elizabeth

I agree with Nancy's list, with the exception of the overtime, which I
can take or leave. I can't imagine working much overtime in this day
and age of the low budget. I also think we are about the only ones
around not receiving an education incentive. But it should be AA/AS
and up with a larger amount the higher you go. A masters or above?
That's nice for a handful of people. But since we are a group, let's
think of each other and not just ourselves.

It was not my intention to exclude any education efforts, and I apologize for
leaving out the Associates and Bachelor degrees. I was under an incorrect
understanding that most of us needed at least a Bachelor's to get our
positions. I am mistaken, and support all degrees being represented.
Thanks. Elizabeth Campopiano

That's ok. Thanks for saying something. Hope it didn't seem I was
"jumping" on you. :)

It's no problem. I understand and know it was not personal.  Take care.  Eliz
