Weekly Meeting Reminder

G'day Mates!

Thanks to everyone who paid dues last week. :)

There is NO MEETING this Friday, February 17th. Enjoy the 4 day
weekend courtesy of Lincoln and President's day.

The next meeting will be Friday, February 24th. Please do come!

Additionally, there is a tournament at UC Berkeley on Saturday,
Feburary 18th. Currently, no one from the club will be going, but if
you wish to go, you can find all the information you need here:

You do have to bring all your own gear though. Otherwise you can't
fence in the tournament.

some fencing equipment as our club order day is coming up next month.

Similarly, club day is coming up on March... 2nd I believe. If not
it's the week after. Expect more emails coming your way to help
coordinate that event.

For those of you who came out for the first time last Friday, I hope you had fun and grasped the basics of fencing. It gets easier after the first day. :]

There will be a meeting this Friday (March 9) in SG 214 - same as usual. 

WE WILL BE TAKING CLUB ORDERS THIS FRIDAY. BRING YO CA$H MONEY. Or check if you prefer. For the sake of not being ripped off by broke students, I am asking that you pay up front before we order anything for you (You can bring a card if you would like, but I'm not really sure how that process works... you'd have to talk to the business office). Quite honestly I thought they had a sizing chart for this on there, but they don't. But it goes by bra sizing so just know that and we're good.

Main takeaway points: There's a meeting this Friday. Bring money if you would like to order equipment. Girls need to buy chest protectors.

Hey guys! 

There is a meeting this Friday, April 13th at 1:00pm-4:00pm as per usual. As not per usual, there will be a ranking tournament beginning at 1:30pm SHARP. There is no entry fee, simply bring your A game and a willingness to learn how a fencing tournament is run if you haven't yet fenced in one.

Additionally there is a fencing tournament in Davis this weekend as well, Saturday is individual weapons and Sunday is team weapon bouts. More information can be found askFRED (http://askfred.net/Events/moreInfo.php?tournament_id=18312). Because it's so close we can leave closer to 8am if anyone would like to carpool. Novice fencing starts at 9:00am. Which means registrations closer to 8:00 - 8:30ish. Pre-register to save money!

Also, the end of the semester is quickly approaching. Our EOS Tournament will be held, Friday, May 4th (I think) at 1:30pm SHARP. There will probably be an entry fee... and maybe prizes... we'll discuss this later. But save the date! :D

Also, we'll be doing some delegation of duties and filling any additional roles to ensure that SCCFC exists next semester. 

Lastly, we shall have an end of the year celebration sometime after the semester is over. We can meet at a restaurant or something, but if you have a home/location that you can offer up for the club to crash at for a couple hours, that'd be pretty sweet dude. Looking at a weekend in May sometime after finals... or during the week sometime after finals... depends on people's schedules.

Hey Fencers!

There will be a meeting this Friday, in SG 214 from 1:00pm-4:00pm. Although it's close to the end of the semester, there is still time to refine your skills! Plus, there's the added incentive of continuing to train in order that you might emerge victorious in our club's EOS Tournament, Friday, May 4th. 

Trophy is in the process of being procured. Fencing Bible is also in the process of being procured. 

The club order should have come in by now. By Friday we should have it, so if you ordered anything, Friday would be a very good day to show up.

Have not yet contacted School of the Tiger. I'll let you guys know what's up with them by Friday.

Anyone have any major objections to the Soran Bushi team using 1/2 of our room on Friday, May 4th for an hour between 1 and 2 pm? They have a performance that day and they'd like to practice a little more before they head out. So... there'll be some music and some yelling that we'd have to deal with.
